these are the stories of mads lizotte photography

(so far, anyway!)

These are the stories of ‘I do’s’ said, aisles tread, and love after love marked with a ‘forever and then some.’ These are the stories of new life brought into the world a couple of years later and families built on a solid-as-a-rock-foundation.

But they’re also the stories of the mess in the milestone: the sleepless nights right after baby arrives, the cereal that goes flying across the room mid-session, the infertility that made a woman feel betrayed by her body, the accidental trip over the train on the way up the aisle.

It’s these real, raw, wilderness-traversed stories that you’ll find in this blog-- and maybe someday, you’ll find yours here, too.

my real name is madeline

but people call me 'mads'

And now, so do you!

Because that’s the thing-- I’m a ‘cut to the chase, skip the small talk’ kind of person. When you’re in my world, there’s no need for pretenses, so, ‘Mads’ it is.

I am a Minnesota photographer that captures profound details in the every day: how the sunlight streams through messy hair, how hands reach for each other instinctively, and how the world feels soft and alive in the quiet moments.

My favorite season is fall, but I’ve recently really been warming up to the coziness and hibernation of winter. My happy place-- other than anywhere near my husband, Brett, and baby boy, Banks-- is a toss up between North Shore, Minnesota and anywhere in the Pacific Northwest. I’d move to Ireland in a heartbeat, if I could, though. Oh, and most importantly? I’m really happy you’re here.
