Muir Woods Intimate Wedding | Caitlin & Landon
Wow. Caitlin and Landon… so many words to say, but I think I’ll mostly let the pictures speak for themselves. We all journeyed to San Francisco around Thanksgiving (actually got in on Thanksgiving and had a nice dinner via the hotel microwave, but that’s another story ;) ) to celebrate some of our best friends. The day before the wedding we went and scouted the locations and it was absolutely perfect weather. The day of the wedding we woke up to gray skies, driving winds and lots and lots of rain… but nothing could put any kind of damper on their day! The fam rounded up lots of ponchos and I vividly remember Cait saying “I’m actually so excited to wear a poncho over my dress!” So like Caitlin to find every silver lining possible. The bridal party rallied and totally rocked pictures in the pouring rain. The day was filled with adventuring to the Muir Woods, standing in awe of the giant redwoods and then sloshing to the beach where the waves were huge and the wind was whipping. Landon and Caitlin didn’t stop smiling one time. The grins on their faces were permanent the entire day. From dancing in ponchos under the red woods, dress and shoes being dragged through the mud, to holding hands in the car with the heat pumping and hair dripping, these two were just truly happy to be marrying their best friend.
The rain actually stopped for a quick sec during the ceremony while the beautiful bride and groom, surrounded by their people, promised each other forever. It was so powerful watching these two families open their arms to their new member and step into this new chapter of life as Landon and Cait became their own family. You could see it written clearly on everyones faces… despite the cold wind and gray skies, we would all remember this day as one of the most sunshine filled days; because of the joy that those two and their people shine everywhere they go.
For the reception, Revelyn saved the day with their insane talent of turning any space into complete magic. What could have been a ruined dinner because of the rain turned into the most cozy and intimate reception under the heaters. Really all the details of the day were SO well thought out! From the crazy cool invites to the dried flower bouquets and that insanely fun jean jacket! The night was filled with laughter, great food, better company and celebrating the bride and groom and their new life together.
Man, was it an emotion filled day. I think the majority of us were on the edge of tears all day long… happy tears. Because it was just such a magical day celebrating two of our favorite humans and being surrounded by all the people that matter most to them.
There’s so much more that I could say… But I’ll leave it with this… don’t let any circumstances ruin your wedding day. If you have your people and your person, that’s all that matters. Bring the sunshine to your day and make it YOURS.
